Participants: 164 consecutive patients undergoing surgical removal of orbital cavernous venous malformation.

Noninvasive radiology confirmed the diagnosis and excluded any deeper cervical venous malformation.

Conclusions: Surgical removal of orbital cavernous venous malformation is a useful treatment modality, particularly for large size tumors.

Materials and methods: Preoperative sclerotherapy was performed in 24 consecutive patients referred before resection of facial venous malformation.

In seven patients, the cause of the SAH was an arterio- venous malformation and these were excluded from further analysis.
